How the Trend Towards Healthy Eating at Hotel Conventions Affects Hotel Recruiters
04/11/2013 - Usually, when people attend business conventions at hotels, they are served the usual unhealthy fare which includes cookies and caffeine. However, hotels are now noting that companies as well as individuals are looking for healthier food options which include fruits, vegetables and lean protein. You just get more out of meetings and conventions when those attending them eat nutritious fare.
Hospitality Recruiters Watch Trends in High-Growth Industry
03/07/2013 - Given the following statistics from the U.S. Department of Labor, hospitality recruiters are gearing up for high demand: • “Between 2004 and 2014, the Hospitality industry is expected to add 17 percent in wage and salary employment. • The accommodation and food services sector makes up approximately 8 percent of all employment nationally. • With the hospitality industry's growth rate increasing, the importance of finding good employees, especially youth workers, is a high priority.”
A seasoned hospitality recruiter heeds 2013 trends of ‘innovation and growth’ to fill key spots with relevant executives and operational staff.
02/21/2013 - Call it one of those legacy notions, or just the old way of doing things, but today’s growth in the ‘Travel, Hospitality and Leisure’ (THL) sector has a lot to do with pushing beyond traditional thinking. In the past, hotel properties offered up fairly common marketing ideas for their guests, from promotional deals to attract them to the hotel’s restaurant to enhancements at the hotel spa. While such draws continue to have their place, the future in the THL industry rides on the integration of many channels of social media of recommendations, to more and more opportunities of easy-bookings online. For hoteliers, part of their bid to bring more visibility to their property’s is wrapped in developing “innovation and growth strategies,” according to an article by Adam Weissenberg, “2013 Outlook on Travel, Hospitality and Leisure.”

When it comes to social media, Facebook and Twitter probably come to mind, but blogging is just as important for reaching your client base and communicating your property’s brand and identity. Blog entries are a great way to provide value to potential customers. Blogging is also a nice complement to other social media channels because you can put a link to each post on Facebook and Twitter.

The First Impression and Guest Satisfaction
07/19/2012 - First impressions make a difference. If guests are left to stand and wait without being noticed, their stay begins with annoyance at slow service, skewing their general impression of the quality of service at your hotel.
